Our Estimate Process

During your estimate, we walk through layout, materials, and spacing so you know exactly how your project will come together.
During your estimate, we walk through layout, materials, and spacing so you know exactly how your project will come together.
Our 2-part process is designed to give you clear guidance, realistic pricing, and a detailed estimate without wasted time or guesswork.

If you’re considering a landscape project and want the clearest path forward, our estimate process is designed to give you better guidance and a more accurate starting point from the very beginning.

We use a 2-part estimate process that begins with a phone consultation and ends with a detailed in-home estimate.

This approach helps us move quickly, answer the right questions early, and give you a much better understanding of your project before we ever arrive.

How Our 2-Part Estimate Process Works

Part 1: Phone Consultation

The first step is a phone consultation.

Before calling, we recommend spending a little time on our website to review our work, process, and project types. This helps you better understand how we work and whether we’re the right fit for your project.

During the call, we’ll ask detailed questions about your property, your goals, the area being worked on, and the materials or features you may want included.

Using your answers, property imagery, and any photos you send us, we can usually give you a strong ballpark understanding of the project before the in-home estimate.

This is not a sales call. It’s a guided consultation designed to save time, answer questions early, and make the next step more productive.

Part 2: In-Home Estimate

Once Part 1 is complete, we move to the in-home estimate.

At that appointment, we review the property in person, confirm project details, walk through layout and material options, and provide a detailed written estimate on the spot.

We may mark bed lines, review samples, discuss plant and material choices, and help you visualize how the finished project will come together.

Because most of the discussion happens during the phone consultation, the in-home estimate is more focused, more efficient, and much more useful than a typical “quote visit.”

What Helps Us Give Better Guidance

To make the first conversation as useful as possible, it helps to have:

  • your property address
  • a few current photos
  • a general idea of which part of the yard is being worked on
  • any preferences for rock, mulch, edging, privacy, or hardscape features
  • a realistic budget range

The more clearly we understand the project upfront, the more accurately we can guide you.

Why We Use This Process

After more than 35 years in business, we’ve found that this is the best way to give homeowners real value before a project starts.

It avoids wasted time, answers the important questions early, and leads to a more accurate estimate and a better overall project experience.

Our goal is not to rush you through a quote. It’s to make sure the project is understood clearly from the beginning, so the final result is better.
